Last year I wrote a round up of the hats at Royal Ascot each day; my favourite Royal hat of Day 2 was worn by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
We all know that Camilla loves a large brim on a hat & in comparison to some of her other hats, this piece is fairly modest; but there is still a dramatic sweeping up brim with a large satin wide edging on it.
This beautiful pale blue colour matches her outfit perfectly & is softened with an attractive silk flower at the side of the hat.
The large rose & accented brim work really well together & create a well balance hat. I also love that there is a decorative indentation in the brim as it curls upwards. I often think it’s small details like this that make a hat stand out from the crowd.
This hat was designed by Philip Treacy & the outfit was previously worn to the christening of Princess Charlotte; & I’m pleased that she repeated it as it really is an attractive design.
Thanks for reading.
